auricle is SHAYE ROSENGARDEN, MATTHEW HOCUTT, SEAN CURRAN (Bayside Chardin), and ETHAN MENDOZA (God's Favorite).

The framework for auricle was laid out in the summer of 2024 as Matthew and I conducted several interviews with local bands for our UIC Radio show, Future Sound of Chicago. I felt inspired by all the projects that came out that summer and had the idea to transcribe our radio interviews into a zine to immortalize that era. While loosely compiling the zine, ideas kept coming to me to create more for auricle, like this website. I have plans to create more written and video content for the site throughout my last semester in college while continuing to share forward and highlight our local creative community. We are always looking for help in editing, filming, animation and 3D modeling :) Have a look around and leave a message in the guestbook!

Thank you for the patience and support in this first zine endeavor.

Check out the inaugural issue of auricle, a short compilation of Chicago’s music scene. From shoegaze and post-hardcore to ravey jungle beats, issue 1 spotlights the artists, releases and shows shaping the city’s underground sound in 2024. This issue is a hodgepodge of goodness delivering delectable Chicago sonic flavor, including interviews and amateur photography.

Physical MINI-zines with band photos will be available starting August 30th for $2 at any @lalalalaliberte show. Full digital zine available under ARCHIVE.
